do people ever notice how american companies take the body of european cars? take saturn for example, they took the body of the vauxhall/opel astra. The pontiac solstice also has the body of a european car, and now they make a lotus into a dodge electric car.

It’s call joint venture/joint development/subcontracting. It’s common everywhere. Mitsubishi has a dodge truck, Lotus uses Toyota engines, etc.

Yes, I know it’s done with many vehicle parts, but it just seems that american cars use it more than others. There are numerous cars with just different stickers on them.

It’s done a lot with whole vehicles too, like Mitsubishi’s Dodge truck, Suzuki’s Nissan truck, Isuzu’s Chevy SUV, VW’s Chrysler minivan… and it’s done a lot in Japan with standard cars and especially with Kei cars between companies.
