I am planing on getting/building a new computer but I don’t know how many wats I need. I will be using my computer for web and game design as well as game testing should I go with a 750 wat or an 850 wats?

im going for a really good gaming computer and i found a really cool case with a power supply with 420w do i need more or??

  8. olgcschoolsNo Gravatar

how much watts does an average gaming comp use?

  9. KingSamLopezNo Gravatar

    what Spec is it

  10. rbrtostoneNo Gravatar

haha i blew up one of my old computers power supply when i changed the voltage from the switch.

  11. phoenix1333No Gravatar

    500W is the minimum.

  12. diederrrNo Gravatar

is there any risk of over powering your pc? (ie. high wattage?)

  13. narutorox85No Gravatar

@olgcschools You probably want around 500w minumum. Go with 600 if you have a high end Graphics card, and 700-800 for multiple GPUs.

  14. mike411sNo Gravatar

I think the only risk there is paying too much. There shouldn’t be a problem with having more power than you need to put out and it’s always nice to have extra just in case you want/need to upgrade parts

Again. Loads have changed in 3 years. When he says dont get anything over 300watts. do not listen to that. its true at the time this video was released. But now i use a 650Watts on my hardcore gaming computer. But when u buy ur video card etc. make sure u check out the minimum voltage or watts they need. and find out the avarage of ur hardware requirements and then buy a PS that gives you the watts u need to feed your computer. But these days 650 is a good choise for a gaming computer! :)

he say under 300 and over 500 lmao

@deponics Do not use power supply that comes whit cases they usely have low quality and probobly make you’r computer shut down

  20. ausirider91No Gravatar

    listen to is again

  21. owen214No Gravatar

he didn’t say, is it a problem if you buy more power than you need? Does the computer just not use the extra power?

  22. wwwinu0No Gravatar

why you dont talk about Graphique cards?

  23. coolkid7500No Gravatar

@owen214 no it doesent matter it just doesent use all the power so yeah..

  24. cybiolink999No Gravatar

because that is not a necessary part of the computer. you can choose wether to get one or not allot of motherboards have onboard graphics cards.

  25. bigcasey1995No Gravatar

how much would all this cost?
