I’m very glad to be one of the 50459 people to see this vid! I love it.
Michael Jackson´s interpretation of the song is classic, unforgetable. And Miles version is sublime. RIP MJ and MD! And thanks John Bettis and Steve Porcaro for this pearl.
I saw Miles live three times in the mid to late 80s in southern california (Hollywood Bowl, the Pantages, the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano) and he was absolutely amazing every time. Each time he played Human Nature the crowd would be absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of his sound and lyrical sense. Miles was THE master of melody, chromaticism, and beautiful sound on his instrument. I love his music (ALL of it from the 50s to the end) and will miss him and MJ too.
I LIVE IN MONTREUX \o/
wOOooooOOw foley is so grooOOoovy!
It’s amazing. I love both versions – MJ’s and MD’s.
hell yes kenny garrett
I saw him one time and it was great, but the whole concert he stood with his back to the audience..you could not see his face for an hour..so I listen to it at home =)
that chick has a nice ass =]
who’s on bass??
Who is that lady drummer?
tsssssssssss!!!
The lady drummer is the danish percussionist Marilyn Mazur. Bassplayer is Benny Rietveld.
OH MY GOSHHHHHHH!!!!!!! This has given me chills!! As a huge Miles and Michael fan I CANNOT BELIEVE I haven’t come across this before!!! Thank you for sharing this absolute treasure. PRICELESS in every way!
Fantastically good. Pity the soundtrack is suffering a bit… all hail Miles
Miles coulda made Abba sound good
@101bbh:
that was my first real jazz shot & shock
Mazur is Polish/German name – they used to say she’s Polish when band played on Jazz Jamboree festival in Poland in 1988…
big fan of this music — sometimes I wonder what musical influences of the 90′s and 2000′s Miles would have incorporated into his music had he been alive — I’m thinking definitely hip-hop, but I think he would have liked bands like Nirvana; as for today maybe daft punk, radiohead — any thoughts?
I don’t see what Miles would get out of the music or whatever it is that is out now. I really don’t see the relation in regards to your thoughts on the subject. Then again, I wouldn’t know. I’ve heard this type of question before in regards to Hendrix as well.
I need mouth to mouth resuscitation right about now. Can you see Michael smiling! OMG, the places this version takes you. God Bless you Mr Miles Davis, as Michael would say.
Well Miles was experimenting with rap, on the very last recordings he worked on, so who knows. My guess would have been rnb and rap/hip hop, considering thats where african-american music went. Perhaps some stuff with electronica elements too, also acid-jazz.
catch ya next time
can anyone make sense of the interview at the start? What the fuck is the guy’s question LOL?
@IChinaManI
hahahaha!!! true that….
