Does anyone know any details on the V-12 engine mounted in the first car in this video?

The show was great.

Just a guess, but I’d say either a 12-71 or 12-92 GM diesel with two blowers.

luapekmud….it is a 12v71 Detroit Diesel (div. of GM…back then)….was used in Semis, Marine, and industrial applications. The two 6v71 blowers on it are stock from the factory and being a 2 cycle,…is Naturally aspirated with them…only (usually) producing about 4psi above atmospheric press. although the drive can be changed to put out more. Detroits are “series’d” by
the no. of cyl & ci per cyl. 12v71= 12cyl
V block, 71ci per cyl.

wiccanway….Hi, and thank you for your comment / reply. The series 60 (four cycle and the first electronically intregated diesel in the world) was introduced in the first quarter of 1987…
30 years (1957) after the introduction of the 53 series 2 stroke. As far as I
remember…the last 2cycles built on the production line were in 2000….and those were 4-53′s. I know the last 12v71 came off the assy. line in April of 94. Hope this helps.
