    I’m not sure about this. It doesn’t seem to draw me in. I’m a bit resistant to the tones.

    i played an open mic last week at a bar, and a creepy/strange man with wine on his breath told me about solfeggio tuning. I’m very glad he did. :)
    I’m still working on understanding the differences in Hz. When i tune my guitar at 440Hz, am I tuning one note at 440? and then the rest in relation to that one? Is it suggested to tune each string to each note on the Solfeggio scale?
    thanks for posting the vid.

    440Hz is A4 or A above middle C, other notes relate to this. Solfeggio frequencies are out of tune with each other compared to modern tuning, so only one can be used to tune a guitar. The easiest way to tune a guitar is to tune the A string to 444Hz which relates to 528. Some electronic tuners can be set to 444.

    Thanks. I was playing around with the electronic tuner I have and it made sense what you explained. I’ll try 444. Its strange though that the tuner won’t go any lower then 427 or any higher then 470. Is the only way to tune to the solfeggio frequencies with those special tuning forks?

  18. davide144redNo Gravatar

    Tuners are designed to tune A, so they only go a quarter tone higher or lower than 440. Any other frequency can be found by its relationship to A. Allow me to do the math for you:
    174 = 438.45
    285 = 452.41
    396 = 444.49
    417 = 441.80
    528 = 443.99
    639 = 451.84
    741 = 440.60
    852 = 451.33
    963 = 428.97

    Your tuner probably can’t use decimals, so you will have to round off. To be more accurate use a synthesizer program like midicode with custom tuning or generate the tones with audacity.

    Yes, you should tune each note individually, by ear, to solfeggio, you can find the find the pure freqs here on YT!

    good luck on your musical journey!
