For everyone who don’t get why he saw those dolls:
his tiredness + drugs he took made his perception wrong. His eyesight was unable to percieve movement and without movement he couldn’t percieve living objects such as people, so he saw them as still dolls, that’s the closest way ho understand still people in a sick mind. His sight was created once he look, so that’s why dolls couldn’t move while he was wathing and can while he wasn’t watching.
