But look at the flags on their back. They are proud to be Americans, even as those of us who are also Americans but can only donate our money and not our time are proud as well. It’s as if we were there too. BTW, those who live in LA County paid the taxes that sent these guys to Haiti. We’re a team.

I’d cheer on a Brazilian team doing the same thing. Don’t knock us down. As for Brazilian leadership, you Brazilians need to give a good talking to the UN guys who made those Belgian doctors pull out of that field hospital a few days ago, taking all their equipment and leaving only one doctor (a U.S. CNN reporter) and a bunch of Haitian nurses to minister overnight to the patients — some of whom were in critical condition.

This picture sort of tells a different story, doesn’t it?

I know firemen, and you are not a fireman.

They are not being turned back — they are being held or diverted to the Dominican Republic. The airport triage by the US is “medical equipment first, passengers second” There are a couple of hundred flights a day sucessfully transiting this airport where only a couple dozen per day landed before US controllers took over. You should cast the beam from your eye.

Day 11, Billy’s team rescued another person today! Hunter his dog had an accident a few days ago and fell in deep hole filled with toxic waste – it appeared to be a solid surface to the dog, was about 12 feet deep.. Had to have toxic decontamination bath. Next day, he was impaled in the chest on rebar when fleeing from a tunnel during an aftershock. LACFD doc gave him 6 sutures and antibitoics. Hunter kept on like a trooper full force! Making him a “Purple Paw” medal for the homecoming welcome!

Yeah, because we didn’t do anything like this after the tsunami, during the Bush administration, right?

We have been doing this, every time a country is in need, for many years. You’re an idiot. The country you live in would be wiped off the face of the earth if it weren’t for us, and we get nothing in return, but planes flown into innocent people. While we still give billions of dollars to your country, Palestinians, and every other country in the middle east, every year. If you all hate America just return all that foreign aide we send. It’s easy, just mark the envelope with”return to sender”

  19. canes50No Gravatar

I wish The USA would get one once of credit for all the good things we do in the world. The way we are treated by other countries we should withdraw all the billions of aide we give every year, but we won’t do that.

Regardless of what you all think, we will still continue to help anyone in need, anytime. We do it because we care, not because we owe anyone anything. We do it even when we receive ridicule instead of thanks.I would like to see how the world would do with one year without our help.

the conspicuous lethargic response by the u.n in the aftermath of the quake in haiti proves many of the shortcomings of this organization. the u.n does a good job of bringing aid to the needy, however, in catastrophic events where immediacy reigns and lives need to be saved, it proved completely ineffectual. And yet, the u.s received criticism for taking a lead role in the aid effort. Unfortunately lives were lost, but more would have died.
